Beautiful flowers can accent any home, but you don't have to spend a fortune to create a fabulous arrangement.
Frances Bailey of Country Living Magazine said sometimes just thinking outside the box can turn those corner-store flowers into the perfect pick me up.
"With so many great options at the corner store, there is no need to go to an expensive florist," said Bailey. "You can really make a beautiful arrangement. A dozen roses can give you at least ten different looks."
First, Bailey said, forget your standard vase. She recommends looking for unusual containers like pitchers, bowls, or even Chinese lanterns.
"Chinese lanterns are good for so much more than lighting. They make great vessels for a flower arrangement," she said. "You just need a tall wine glass that fits in the middle. Fill it with water first, then you cut your flowers and put them in the lantern. It has a lot of impact. It's inexpensive. Everyone loves it. It's a surprise, makes everyone smile."

Bailey also suggests using a vintage handbag. She said just put a vase with water inside and carefully place the flowers and your incredible display is in the bag!
For those who never use their bake ware, Bailey advises using those pieces for plants. She said to just buy some small plants and put them in a muffin pan.
A flower arrangement does not require that the flowers are in the same container. Bailey recommended arranging several different sized glasses on a tray and used one bloom in each.
For an unusual place setting, Bailey suggests putting a little water and a bloom inside a seashell. Or box up some sweets and glue one flower on top. This can be an unexpected way to serve dessert or give them as party favors.
Another idea for party favors only involves the petals.
"I love to use the petals to decorate some bath salts," said Bailey. "I take a cellophane bag, which I have filled up with some bath salts, and just add petals. I then fold the bag and pop on a label and you have got a very inexpensive, but very chic party favor."
