Caring for a sugar glider

I have a riddle for you. What fits in your pocket, is really cute and screams like a banshee when disturbed? If you guessed a sugar glider you're right.

The sugar glider is a small marsupial native to Australia and New Guinea. Sugar gliders are like a small flying possum about the size of a squirrel. Often their tail is the same length as their bodies with grey, black and white markings.

Sugar gliders have become popular pets here in the U.S. but they need a lot of attention -- more than your dog and way more than your cat.

It’s always important to know what you are getting into when you bring a pet into your life so find out as much as you can before bringing one home.
