SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- The turnstiles were turning for Curlin as racing fans poured through the gates to see the 2007 Horse of the Year race in the Woodward Stakes.
The first 20,000 fans even got their hands on a commemorative Curlin poster. But some long-time racing fans know it's always unpredictable up at Saratoga.
"Oh, it's gonna’ be nice to see him run, he's a big horse that's won a lot of money. But, once again, you know, this is the graveyard for favorites. Anything can go down up here," said race fan Kevin Bockelmann.

Curlin is hailed as the number one thoroughbred in the world and won last year's Preakness and Breeder's Cup.
The three-year-old has earned nearly $9.5 million over his career.
