It's rehearsal time, where artists, dancers, and musicians are gearing up for the second annual "SaratogaArtsFest."
"It started because leaders of arts organizations and chamber of commerce realized that if they pulled their resources and came together to celebrate the arts we could build awareness of all arts organizations, we could build audiences and promote cultural tourism in Saratoga Springs," said board president Marie Glotzbach.
Members of the Tango Fusion Dance Company and the Lake George Opera were on hand to give a little sneak preview of what they will be offering this weekend.
It's rehearsal time, where artists, dancers, and musicians are gearing up for the second annual "SaratogaArtsFest." Vince Gallagher has the details.
"The audience is really going to get a full evening, because we do tango, salsa, swing, jazz, ballet," said Diane Lachtrupp, artistic director of the Tango Fusion Dance Company.
The ArtsFest features all forms of art and entertainment including music, dance, film, and theater. And with 100 local and national artists and exhibitors participating, it's quite a "step up" from last year.
"We are very excited about the size of the ArtsFest this year, we have three times as many events and performances that will be going on this weekend," said Glotzbach.
And in addition to providing entertainment, the Arts Fest brings the community together as way of celebrating not just art, but Saratoga Springs as well.
"I think it's great. Saratoga is such a beautiful place and there's so many arts here to begin with, to bring people here for other arts, and also it's very supportive of the local artist as well," said Lachtrupp.
"And that's what we're trying to do, one voice supporting all the arts, understanding that there's more of a collaborative impact with a combined effort," said Glotzbach.
And if you're interested in checking out the SaratogaArtsFest, it's happening through his weekend in downtown Saratoga Springs.
