COLONIE, N.Y. -- The Colonie Little Leaguer who made a big league play and was celebrated in the national spotlight gets a special hometown honor.

Thursday night, the Colonie Town Board honored 12-year-old Jordan Johnson with a special recognition and award.

Capital News 9 first brought you the story and video of Colonie Little Leaguer who made an incredible catch during a game earlier this month, robbing the opposing team of a three-run homer.

Since the video aired on our channel, Jordan has become a super-star. This was named the number one play of the day on ESPN's SportsCenter.

Jordan says he never thought he'd get so much attention.

A local Little Leaguer who made an amazing catch during a game earlier this month was honored by officials in Colonie.

He said, "It's been exciting, you know. I never knew I was going to be on ESPN. That was the coolest thing. That was my dream to do. I made that catch and I didn't know it was going to be that big."

Jordan told us he never even saw the fence and had his eye on the ball the whole time.

Despite that effort, Jordan's team lost that July 16th game. Jordan told us that he would've rather had won that game than make that play.
