SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - An exercise rider for trainer Steve Asmussen died after being injured in a riding accident at Saratoga Race Course.

Parker Buckley suffered a head injury at the track on Monday. Asmussen told the Daily Racing Form that Buckley was galloping a horse when he was unseated on the Oklahoma training track.

Buckley, a former jockey, was taken to Albany Medical Center, where he was placed in a medically induced coma. Medical staff waited until his family could arrive before taking him off life support.

The hospital confirmed Tuesday that Buckley had died.
