LIVINGSTON, N.Y. -- A Germantown man is facing charges following a home invasion in the Town of Livingston that happened Monday night.

Columbia County 911 received a report of an assault around 8:30 p.m. Monday. State police responded and found a 42-year-old man had been assaulted in his own residence. He was taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Angel Perez, 43, was identified as the suspect who entered the victim's residence where his ex-girlfriend was visiting.

On Tuesday morning, investigators received a tip that Perez was in the Red Hook area. He was taken into custody a short time later as he walked along Graves Street in the Village of Red Hook.

Perez is charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree assault. He was arraigned and sent to Columbia County Jail without bail.
