ALBANY COUNTY


TWIN BRIDGES CABLE REPLACEMENT PROJECT: Preparatory work will continue as the cable replacement project on the Twin Bridges. Motorists may see workers on the bridge but should not be alarmed. On Friday, July 25, there will be a northbound right lane closure from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.


SOUTH MALL EXPRESSWAY OVERHEAD SIGN WORK: Beginning Monday, July 21, through Friday, July 25, overhead sign work will be done on the South Mall Expressway westbound (prior to Empire State Plaza) with a single lane closure each day from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.


PATROON ISLAND BRIDGE WALL REPAIRS: Scheduled concrete wall repair work continues on the Patroon Island Bridge, Interstate 90 over the Hudson River, with a westbound right lane closure each night from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day. This work follows a Sunday-to-Thursday weekly night schedule expected to continue through August.


CENTRAL AVENUE RESURFACING: Work continues on the resurfacing project on Central Avenue, State Route 5. There are various lane restrictions and lane shifts in each direction between Fuller Road and Wolf Road from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. each weeknight. The traffic signals in this vicinity will be adjusted to fixed times for a period of one to two weeks. Motorists should expect potential peak hour delays and may wish to avoid this area and consider alternate routes.


ROUTE 443 RESURFACING: Resurfacing continues on Route 443 between Fisher Boulevard and Kenwood Avenue and on Route 335 between Herber Avenue and Delaware Avenue with single lane restrictions at both locations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each weekday.


ROUTE 143 RECONSTRUCTION: A project to reconstruct State Route 143 in Coeymans continues with alternating one-way traffic operations controlled by flaggers between Route 9W and Nolan Road from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each weekday.


INTERSTATE 87 EXIT 6 CAMERA WORK: On Tuesday, July 22, maintenance work will be done on a camera located on the Northway northbound off-ramp at Exit 6 with a left lane closure on the ramp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.


ESSEX COUNTY


ROUTE 9N OVER PUTNAM CREEK AND MCKENZIE BROOK: Work continues on this project in Crown Point and Port Henry. There are one-way alternating traffic operations at both locations 24 hours a day.


GREENE COUNTY


PORTION OF ROUTE 9W CLOSED: In order to complete railroad crossing repairs, Route 9W between Alpha Boulevard and Pine Street about 1 mile north of the Ulster County Line is closed through Saturday, July 19. Motorists should follow the posted detour using Routes 32 and 23A.


RENSSELAER COUNTY

ROUTE 67 BRIDGE OVER THE HUDSON RIVER: The project to rehabilitate this bridge between Mechanicville and Schaghticoke continues. Currently, there is alternating, one-way traffic on the bridge controlled by a temporary signal system. There is also a short local detour in Mechanicville.


SARATOGA COUNTY

ROUTE 67 BRIDGE OVER FORMER D&H: A project to replace the bridge carrying Route 67 over the former D&H Railbed in Ballston continues with various preparatory work in advance of the bridge replacement. There are alternating, one-way traffic operations on Underpass Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.


ROUTE 67 BRIDGE OVER THE HUDSON RIVER: The project to rehabilitate this bridge between Mechanicville and Schaghticoke continues. Currently, there is alternating, one-way traffic on the bridge controlled by a temporary signal system. There is also a short local detour in Mechanicville.


SCHENECTADY COUNTY


ROUTE 146 OVER INTERSTATE 890 BRIDGE WORK: Continuing through the end of July 2008, bridge work will be done on the bridge carrying Route 146 (Michigan Avenue) over I-890 between Exits 6 and 7 with round-the-clock left lane closures in each direction.


ROUTE 50 BRIDGE OVER THE INDIAN KILL: Work continues on this bridge replacement project in Glenville. Two-way traffic is maintained with narrowed travel lanes.


WARREN COUNTY


ROUTE 28 BRIDGE OVER MILL CREEK: One-way, alternating traffic operations controlled by a temporary signal system continue at this bridge replacement project in Johnsburg. This traffic pattern is expected to remain in place until mid-October.


ROUTE 9L OVER HALFWAY CREEK WORK: There is alternating, one-way traffic operations controlled by a temporary signal system on the bridge carrying Route 9L over Halfway Creek adjacent to Haviland Road round-the-clock until September.


ROUTE 9 RESURFACING PROJECT: A resurfacing project on Route 9 between the Glens Falls City Line and Round Pond Road continues with a round-the-clock, southbound right lane closure between Route 254 and Fort Amherst Road.


WASHINGTON COUNTY


ROUTE 4 RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT: The one-way detour continues on Route 4 between Maple Avenue and Schuyler Street. Northbound traffic is re-routed on a signed detour that includes Burgoyne Avenue and Schuyler Street while southbound traffic remains on Route 4. This traffic pattern is expected to remain in place until October 2008. Special signage is posted to direct customers to area businesses and access remains open to businesses and driveways. During the weekends of July 18-21 and July 25-28, Route 4 between McCrea Street and Marion Street will be closed to through traffic. Motorists should follow the signed detour route using Route 4 to Argyle Street (Route 197) to Basin Road (County Route 42) to Route 196 to Route 4. Work will be done beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday and the road is scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. on Monday. Businesses remain open and accessible from side streets.


ROUTE 22 PAVING WORK: Resurfacing work continues on Route 22 between Routes 40 and 4 with alternating, one-way traffic operations at various locations controlled by flaggers from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day.


CLAY HILL ROAD BRIDGE OVER CHAMPLAIN CANAL: The work on this bridge continues with periods of alternating one-way traffic each weekday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
