The Schenectady Police Department has promoted three officers and welcomed seven new ones to the force. Schenectady Mayor Brian Stratton was on hand to recognize all ten in a ceremony Tuesday night.

Financial incentives to go green
For four years, homeowners who have a renewable energy system, like wind or solar, have reaped the rewards. Credit on their utility bill for the surplus power they pump out, at the same rate they pay for power to be pumped in. But businesses didn't get that kind of bang for their buck. Until now.
