CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. -- As speculation continues to swirl over Senator Hillary Clinton and if she'll become Secretary of State, many are beginning to wonder who will replace her if she does land the Cabinet job.
One name being floated is Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand. Although she and some of her House colleagues also thought to be up for the job are remaining tight-lipped on the subject.
If Clinton does leave, Governor Paterson will appoint a successor who will hold her Senate seat until 2010, when a special election would be held.
Other names that have floating around in recent days include Brooklyn Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, Brian Higgins of Buffalo and Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.
