NORTH HUDSON, N.Y. (AP) - A single-engine private plane safely made an emergency landing on Interstate 87 in the Adirondacks after developing engine trouble.
No injuries were reported in the incident in the Essex County town of North Hudson just after 5 p.m. Wednesday. Essex County Emergency Services Deputy Director Donald Jaquish says a truck driver called 911 on his cell phone to report that the plane was coming down.
State Police say there was a pilot and one passenger on the plane and neither was hurt. The plane was pushed out of the traffic lanes and was expected to be removed from the scene by truck later in the evening.
