The 140th track season at Saratoga got off to a wet start. And while they didn't come out in the numbers NYRA was hoping for, tens of thousands of racing fans braved the elements for the season opener. Dave Detling joins us from the Saratoga bureau with what that means for day two at the Spa.
However there are changes in today's program. NYRA has canceled turf racing for the day. This includes the first Steeplechase race of the season. But not to worry, it has been rescheduled for next Wednesday. The regular Steeplechase will resume on time, next next Thursday, weather permitting.
Perhaps the horses have something to do with the weather. After all, they've got names like Typhoon Tycoon, Storming Normandy and Drums of Thunder. Let's hope a horse named Bright Sunshine trots into town.
